Still No Snow

I've been hoping to get back to the bridge in some snow, but alas, still no snow. In fact, we have rain today. Mother Nature, not to complain, but rain does not lend itself to pretty pictures of the bridge. The lakes are finally starting to freeze though. Nothing thick, just a thin top layer of ice, but it is pretty to look at. I'm going to take some frozen water photographs. We have several really pretty lakes here in Westford, hopefully they will make some pretty photographs.
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with my photography long term. I keep going back and forth on keeping it a hobby or pursuing it professionally. If I do follow it as a profession, it will be a part-time profession for a while. Gotta keep the day job to keep a roof over my head and pay for the camera equipment. LOL. A D300 isn't cheap and I still drool for one.
So instead of photography today, I'm doing fun things like laundry, housework and cooking. Well, I actually enjoy the last one, but other two, not so much. Necessary evils, right? Oh yes, I must finish the rest of my holiday cards too.
I'll leave you with this photograph from this fall in lieu of any winter photography. I took this while I was visiting a lighthouse on Cape Cod.

Photography...Finding My Eye

After I moved to Boston, I started taking pictures again. And with a real camera, not just my iPhone. At the beginning of the year I made a resolution to go shooting once a month. I haven't kept that resolution at all, I can honestly say I've probably shot about every other month, if that. This photo is one I took this summer, early in the summer.

This bridge is near where I live, it's a granite bridge that has no mortar. It's held up just by the pressure of the stones upon one another. I am planning to go back after the first snow fall to capture it again in the winter. I'll post that picture too.

Photography and writing are the two things that I keep coming back to no matter what else I do. I keep thinking I should pursue something with both of these passions. I'm not sure what, beyond this blog, but I'll figure it out eventually. I hope. Preferably something that will allow me to support myself or at the very least something I enjoy that will supplement my current job. No, I'm not looking for a new job, but I do need to find a creative outlet in my life and be proactive at actually pursuing it regularly.

Long time, no write

I stopped writing again for a long time. It's been almost 2 years since I posted here. I've been busy in that time too. I relocated to Boston, MA in the summer of 2009. I took a job up here, an admin job, but the idea was to get my foot in the door of a major company.
I'm not sure what I want to do with this blog from this point on, but I want to start using it again. Maybe a mix of photography and writing. We shall see. I am slowly finding my eye again. Now to find my muse once again.
